Much of Ireland's strategy for driving innovation has already been mapped out through actions across a broad range of policy areas, summarized by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment and Forfás in Innovation in Ireland (2008), and this report builds on that work. While skills relating to specific occupations and industries are often important for innovation, this report looks at cross-cutting skills that apply across broad swathes of occupations and across many industries.
