Arts Research: Publics and Purposes
15th – 19th February Dublin. 2010
Dear Colleagues,
Please find attached the draft schedule and programme overview for Arts Research: Publics and Purposes taking place between February 15th and19th in Dublin. Updated programmes will be available on http://www.gradcam.ie/art_research_public.php
This unique event comprises a week-long series of symposia, workshops, presentations, performances and exhibitions in Dublin for the week 15-19 February 2010. Participants and contributors are invited to join us for the entire week or to select those elements in our programme that are most relevant to their interests.
For example we have a particular focus on design and animation on Monday (15/2/10); music on Tuesday & Wednesday (16- 17 /2/10); music; media; and culture and citizenship on Wednesday (17/2/10); and arts research and publics on Thursday (18/9/10) and Friday (19/2/10).

Design Symposium Keynote: Eames Demetrios
Collateral Events.
The conference will also feature a series of collateral events including: a special screening of films by and about Charles and Ray Eames, curated by Eames Demetrios; TradFutures hosted live musical performances; Dun Laoghaire – Rathdown County Council and GradCAM (IADT) host the public launch of EC- EACEA Project “Creative Policies for Creative Cities”; “Critique of Archival Reason” curated by Henk Slager and “Re : Public” curated by Daniel Jewesbury.
Overarching Themes.
The conference addresses the state of development of contemporary research in and through cultural practice. It makes particular reference to questions of the public interest, and of the broad purposes, that arts research may serve.
