Speaking of coffee.....
Speaking of coffee.....
Mary Mulvihill's idea of establishing a regular CreativeD Open Coffee seemed to draw nods of agreement at the meeting yesterday. She has asked me to start up a discussion on this.
The Open Coffee sessions can be used to progress ideas and projects exlored at the CreativeD sessions, to spark of further collaboration, to discuss key issues for the creative sector, or merely to have a natter and a brew.
What we need for now is a decision on:
Time, day and frequency (Mary suggests the first Friday of every month - but bear in mind the first Friday of April is Easter), and;
Location (maybe the Science Gallery, or Smock Alley Cafe. Or maybe the newly-named Cafe Zen?!)
Lets get some consensus on these two issues, and then let's let the coffee and chat flow....
Mitchell

Yeh Friday mornings are always good as everyone is in weekend mode and stress levels are lower - more chance for the creative juices to flow

Hi Mitchell,
I'm up for that, Friday mornings are good I think. I don't mind the location - when the new cafe opens I can get us a discount, but it's at least 2 months away!

Happy Women's Day!
Delighted people like the coffee idea. It would be good to get one in before the next workshop, which kinda rules out the "first Friday" suggestion.
How about "First Wednesdays" -- to alternate with the workshops -- which would make it April 7 (and June 2).
And do people think we need to fix on one definitive venue, or can it be a movable feast? Smock Alley one month, Cafe Zen the next.

I think the idea of one venue might work well as there would not be any confusion as to where people weere meeting up from one coffee session to another.

Well as "Cafe Zen" doesn't exist yet (that makes it truly Zen, doesn't it!) maybe we should stick with Smock Alley Cafe for now :-) Kate
Stick to one venue. More likely to get people going regularly

Yes, I think if one venue, people will know its on.
Wednesday would be difficult for me, Fridays work better but majority rules.

Collaborative coffee: how about this Friday at 12 noon in Smock Alley?
If even 4 people commit to be there, it would surely be worthwhile.
