Biography:
Cathy Grieve is owner of Red Diamond Media and an experienced media professional. She has worked in front line journalism for almost two decades, producing for tv, radio, print, online and digital media platforms. Until March 2009 she was a senior editor with BBC news in London and has worked as a BBC producer in Dublin, Washington DC and Belfast, including the very successful BBC news website, www.bbc.co.uk/news where she was commissioning editor. She was Ireland producer with BBC TV and radio news and led the coverage of events such as the Good Friday Agreement, President Clinton’s visit to Ireland and the Omagh bombing.
She has worked for the BBC in Washington DC, and has covered world events and Irish and UK politics including numerous general election campaigns. Cathy has won numerous awards throughout her journalistic career including an RTS, a Broadcast award and various online journalism awards. Cathy also worked with RTE news for a spell during the late 90’s based in Dublin.
She established Red Diamond Media in May 2009, situated in Dublin’s Digital Hub, bringing her extensive knowledge of journalism, digital media and technology to the Irish media market. Her company specialising in video production, communications consultancy, media training, TV, radio and online productions, new media delivery technology and talent management.
Cathy is also a media advisor to a wide range of business and voluntary organisations. She has experience working with clients in the banking industry, agricultural sector, educational, communications and pharmaceutical areas.
She is a graduate of NUIG with a degree in Mathematics and English. Ms Grieve is a native of Letterkenny, Co Donegal.
